help with translation from Health Insurance bill.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, what just wondering if anyone can tell me what
" Ambulante Behandlung" on my health insurance bill means.

Thanks

Re: help with translation from Health Insurance bill.

Treatment not in hospital but a doctor's surgery OR in hospital but you go home immediately after the treatment

Re: help with translation from Health Insurance bill.

Exactly... as opposed to "stationäre Behandlung" where you are given a bed in hospital and stay overnight.

Sorry, that is a bit misleading: Ambulant can, under certain circumstances, get you a bed too, but you go home at the end of the day (for instance, after giving birth "ambulant").
