Former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been detained for questioning by French police investigating a prostitution ring. Investigators have already questioned a number of prostitutes who have admitted having sex with Mr Strauss-Kahn. The 62-year-old insists he did not know that the women were prostitutes.

I liked his lawyer's remark on French TV, "I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman."

So do normal naked women regularly find their way to S-K's bedroom? The idea is bizarre, "Yes officer, I shagged her, but I didn't realise she was a pro"

Thanks for that! Nothing on Google France yet. Apparently the revelation comes from "Closer", a gossip mag. Goodness knows why she's put up with him for so long. The New York incident was bad enough, but more recently revealed goings-on in a hotel in Lille look even worse. A charge of "gang rape" (probably a poor translation of "viol en réunion", I admit. Where's Faltrad?) is being considered. Thank goodness all this came out before the presidential election got under way.

Anne Sinclair's in charge of Huffington Post France and she's a really good journalist, so the prospects for her new single life look pretty bright. The same cannot be said for her lecherous ex, who is apparently "deeply depressed", poor thing.
