Pope coming to Freiburg this Sat

I was planning to take my sister-in-law to Freiburg (Germany)this Saturday for some fabulous ice cream bechers (Germans are superior to the French in this dept), but now I have to change plans since it'll be a zoo.

Strange, there's been nothing in the local paper about it at all.

HA!! I actually first saw a banner for it 2 weekends ago when I took a friend there (yep, for ice cream also ). The banner was hanging on the main cathedral & I'm surprised it's not all in the news as well.

Freiburg is not the same as Fribourg/Freiburg. His Eminence is having his ice-cream in the German one. For the Swiss one, Bertherin or Glace Artisanale will see you right for ice cream.

On the last day of his visit, the pope will officiate a service at the Freiburg airport and then meet with members of the German Bishops’ Conference in the afternoon.
He'll be going to France as well, then. And Baslers can go and ogle him too, without leaving their "own" territory.

Indeed.

I'd have thought it a cardinal sin to refer to His Holiness as merely eminent.
