| | | Pakistan bans 1600 words/phrases for SMS messages from today
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has apparently come up with a list of words and phrases that it deems offensive, and told carriers to block SMS messages containing any of these words. Brilliantly though, the list has been compiled by somebody with a brilliant sense of humour.
Amongst some of the banned phrases is the phrase "flogging your dolphin", which I have never even heard of, and also "monkey crotch", which I have also never heard of, but have now decided to incorporate into my daily vocabulary as often as possible. I once implemented a software package that was used for blocking non work related websites and which also included sites with inappropriate language.
Reading the software's in-built dicktionary(sic) was probably the funniest day spent in that shite job.
I now count "blue viened nose flute" as one of the best descriptions I've ever heard  |
