Re: Gun and grenade attack in Belgium.

Still happening now. Police are chasing "an accomplice" around the city centre according to Belgian radio.

Re: Gun and grenade attack in Belgium.

Heard about this on the radio. That's pretty horrendous.

Chucking grenades around a public area is most definitely on the list of "things not to do under any circumstances".

Skynews are reporting two dead after a guy in his mid-forties threw three or four grenades at a bus station in Liège. The attacker is believed to be one of the dead said another unconfirmed report.

Re: Gun and grenade attack in Belgium.

BBC News says at least one dead, 47 wounded and that it was a lone attacker.

Re: Gun and grenade attack in Belgium.

Always tricky when posting on happening events. Just one assailant, a local known to the police for previous firearms offences, no terrorism involved. Another attack of a lunatic with a problem taken out on innocent people, you'll never be able to stop a random attack whatever we'd all like to believe.

Thoughts out to those with loved ones involved.

Yes, it's amazing what we think we see when under stress. A number of eyewitnesses said they saw 2 men firing guns and another running away. They probably did see something but then the brain fills in the missing bits. Not that I blame them, it must have been terrifying.

Easy to imagine things when grenades are flying about I should imagine.

A friend works in one of the buildings just off the square, he said it was terryfying.

I kind of wonder why people post the news on here, we can all see the same news or read it in English on the internet. But it continues to be posted as wow.. ok best if I will read the news... sometimes I read it the day before it is posted on here.

Because it allows for the discussion of such events. Besides the OP wasn't reporting, he was simply saying hey look what's happening and providing a link to the actual report.

It's quite cosmopolitan community here and a lot of worldwide events can affect certain members directly, hence this section for international affairs and politics.
