Prisoners die all the time in Turkish, Iranian and Arab prisons, and very few people seem to mind.

I don't have any sympathy with either side in this stupid war. But if both sides stopped throwing stones, they would both get along much better!

Yes the difference is that they were swearing to get big time revenge if one prisoner died. I certainly don't want people from any side paying the price of both side's stupidity.

Throwing stones can do much damage and cause death, but what is normal equipment in any average tiny little small quick war is far more likely to raise death toll than "simple" stones ....

By that backwards logic, we should make murder & rape victims do the same, recognize their perpetrators before any punishments or justice are meted out

The Palestinians have, in Israeli eyes, performed criminal acts. They have been caught doing stupid things and are awaiting trial. What more can they expect? When Palestinians stop attacking the acknowledged state of Israel, they will get more sympathy from other countries, and Israel would not have excuses to lock them up. If they want to starve themselves to death, I really don't think they will achieve anything.

Many are in prison without having a trial. Many are in prison without having found guilty.

Israelis are too good. I'm sorry but the palestinian prisoners have the possibility to learn their degrees in prison and are treated very well. If they don't want to eat or drink who cares? Guilad Shalit didn't see the sunlight for 5 years, his parents or even the red cross and nobody was shocked by that.
