What are the merry pranksters of the USAF putting into orbit?
Article and cool pictures of the X-37 space plane that has been launched into orbit and landed at Vandenburg AFB a couple of times. Classified mission profiles, and nobody is eager to offer up what sort of payload they are putting into space.

Maybe they're just too embarrassed to admit to the fact that it's just too damn small to actually put a useful payload into space - it's only about 9 metres long.
Edit: unless it is the payload itself.
