I wonder how Kant would feel if he knew his views were used to defend a religion that is indefensible.
He would logg off and do his usual walk.

Are you talking to me or Douggie?

I personally don't think the FN victory will have much impact on CH. Freysinger might congratulate Marine.
In any case, I was really happy FN won. I was sad about Geert Wilders losing, though.

Oh, btw, it's Le Pen, not Lepen.

So I guess you are an 'expat' in Switzerland- the right kind of foreigner, not one of them other kind of nasty foreigners. You of course have totally integrated, speak and write perfect French and can make Fondue making figures of 8 with one hand. Bravo ...

Of course it's only a (false) perception. Who are these silly people that think mass immigration leads to housing shortages, more road congestion, higher rates of crime and welfare dependency? Ah, voters are so unreasonable!

http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgr...ity-in-europe/
French City with 40% Muslim Population is the Most Dangerous City in Europe
MASS immigration ? This is just a slogan.

Housing shortage is caused primarily by the ever growing demand of locals for more space

Road congestion is "homemade" basically.

40% Muslims ? You apparently mean Marseille ?

Important for her success was that Marine Le Pen careful moved her party towards the centre. PLUS her flamboyant and charming personality

You knew it was about Marseille without even accessing the link? Impressive.

God, I love that woman.

In the economic sense at least, the accuracy of "center" or "far-right" descriptor is doubtful. Her economic policies are further to the "left" than many of you would like to admit.
I mean, a protectionist-statist-regulatory and welfare-oriented governmental system, there's NOTHING "right" about that!

Riiiiiight...200.000 immigrants per year is just a slogan.

Let's be clear here. Parties like FN or UKIP target mass non-European immigration, mainly from islamic Africa and Middle-East.
And they're right to do so. Cultural homogeneity is essential for a healthy democracy.

If those 200.000 immigrants were Swedes, Norwegians, Americans, Brits, Austrians (Conchita Wurst, YAY), Italians etc. her discourse on immigration would probably be a lot more toned down.

200,000 immigrants shouldn't be of much concern to the Froggys. If so, how come so many of them want to leave? I consider France a halfway house while they try and make the jump to a more fair and pleasant land

That's typical for "far right" parties. They're almost always crypto-socialist when you actually read their manifestos.

That's why conservatives like me despise them so much.

Nope. I don't know about FN, but UKIP are specifically concerned with immigration from the EU. Perhaps you're thinking of the BNP (who are just a bunch of ****s for whom nobody votes any more).
