And most folks believe
I would have preferred a solution similar to ALITALIA. New ownership, new managerment (only slighlly less corrupt) but same trademark. But here the legalistic approach of course was taken. Which means that the corporate identities were dropped. To me and lots of people, accidents of Adastra/Swissair/Crossair/SwissInternational-SwissEuropean are all the same. And nobody believes (unless YOU ? )

Someone correct me if I am wrong but...
Well I guess no one can correct me considering it's still classified info. At least I'm not the first to leak it so I don't have to worry about being the next Snowden.
Anyways, this plane will not be found. Too much diplomatic tension would result if this plane is found and a certain group of people do know where this plane is. Apparently one or more of the Chinese nationals were double agents and handed new cloaking technology over to China. China has the plane.
You didnt hear it here first.
I'm just joking, nothing left to see, move on.

Maybe if they started to look for the hijackers passports instead of the black boxes.......it worked for 9-11.

Re: Malaysian Airlines flight missing

I can barely believe that a worm, Nigel Cawthorne, has crawled out and written a book, that explains how the US and Thai air forces have conspired to cover up an accidental shooting down of the Malaysian aircraft!

Nigel Cawthorne, writes: 'Did they die painlessly, unaware of their fate? Or did they die in terror in a flaming wreck, crashing from the sky in the hands of a madman?' It is then that Cawthorne makes the incredible assertion that the plane was shot down accidentally over the South China Sea by a joint US-Thai joint strike fighter team, and the searchers sent in the wrong direction as part of a cover up.

Re: Malaysian Airlines flight missing

It's the 2nd link that came up on Google News when we were looking this morning...
Google news picks up any wacko-site, any blog, any brain-fart that resembles "news" (probably enough if the site is a blog and offers an RSS-feed) and turns it into "de-facto"-news that other sites often pick up with little or no questioning.

The result is a cacophony of blather that drowns any useful bit of real news.

Re: Malaysian Airlines flight missing

I can't understand why it'll take the guy until autumn to make the film. It must last for what, 10 minutes at most. Plot/script: plane flying, plane lost, big search, lots of money spent, no result, the end.

Unfortunately, there's always someone around who tries to capitalise on tragedy. These are only the latest to do so.

Well, it's not like the US hasn't 'accidently' shot down passenger aircraft in the past.

Yeah, st2lemans, but they didn't manage to cover it up, did they? Any more than the Chinese did.

Only because they didn't have Obama as president.

@marton, if (as Tom suggests) Obama somehow has the power to ensure that all the American Air Force servicemen and women who would have been party to this accidental shooting-down of the MH370 jet, how do you explain all the Thai Air Force servicemen and women keeping quiet? Is Obama the president of Thailand, as well?

Removed my groan; it was not a deliberate act - I never groan anybody! I am against the whole concept of groaning.

Maybe the NSA hacked my account in an attempt to disrupt the warm cuddly way we debate together

To quash any bright spark coming along with another stupid theory. Have you noticed how, weeks after the event, 2 people are claiming to have seen a ball of fire crashing into the sea?

I am looking forward to the BBC documentary, at least we will now get facts put together, in a sequence.

I am interested in why the Malaysians were reluctant to give out useful information at the beginning. I built (Not alone of course) a radar site in the jungle on Penang Island, I was working there 3 years. It might not have seen the plane flying north, but if it did turn left and then south, Penang would have seen it (range about 2 to 300 miles, the Penang site is about 700 meters above sea level).
Google maps has a view of the site. The circular radome is on the south side of the site, mounted on the top of a 5 meter high building,
