I don't think he's really dead. Just recalled to Ork. For his work has been done here on Earth at this time.

So very sad......a fantastic man in so many ways. Comedy, acting.....a childhood hero. He was obviously dealing with some significant demons.....

Re: Rip Robin Williams

Williams falls into the "someone I grew up with" category for me.

He attracted stick for his hyperactivity, not seeming to have an 'off' switch. I guess he found one. RIP Robin, the world is a poorer place without you.

Re: Rip Robin Williams

I know he was in his 60s but ... too young. As other have said, I've grown up with him and his comedy will never be forgotten.

So unexpected. RIP Robin. I don't know of any other actor to simply emanate so much kindness, child like innocence and humour.

He was voted least likely to succeed by his classmates and then proceeded to leave an indelible mark on 20th century cinema and changed the world of comedy.

So many comedians seem to suffer from this inner torment, that often, tragically ends this way.

All I can say is ....... "What a Mork".

I found this article from the Guardian in 2010 quite thought provoking... May he R.I.P.

Re: Rip Robin Williams

It's one of my all time favourite films too.

Long time ago when I worked in London, we went to see it as part of a department group bonding exercise that included drinks, dinner, the movie and more drinks!

One of the bosses, noted for being particularly hard nosed and unemotional in the work environment, was literally reduced to a snivelling wreck during the showing.

Naturally, we were all quite taken aback at this apparent transformation of character. When we all went for drinks later, he could not stop gushing about how it made him feel, how Robin Williams and Matt Damon were such brilliant actors etc.

However, next day in the office, it was back to normal for him.

Re: Rip Robin Williams

About a month ago I was watching a you tube of an interview with, I think Stephen Fry, Robin Williams was also 'on the sofa' having already had his interview. He stole the show, so witty and so hyper, I remember thinking at the time how sad he must be inside to have have to present this front constantly, how draining it must be to always be on, and the co-interviewee and interviewer at times looked a little pained and sorry for him.
Poor man.

Depression is a serious and sometimes deadly illness and anyone with symptoms should go to the doctor and get treatment.
