lol there have been literally hundreds of Hollywood films about people trying to kill the president and you know what, no one threatened to blow up cinemas about it, 2 blockbusters last year about it iirc White House down etc and who could forget idiocracy that takes the piss out of future presidents too.

Not even an entertaining troll if I honest
Can you name one of these 'hundreds'? Where the plot is to assassin Obama, Clinton, Bush... at the time?

I'm pretty sure you thought that a long time before…

Yeay, we've reclaimed the right to make stupid idiotic movies. Hurrah!

ironically, that movie may gross more than the entire North Korea GDP.

Now this is the last straw - North Korea just called our dear leader, Obama, a 'monkey'. . Now we have to nuke 'em. But I truly hope they got a good laugh out of that one.

From a review I read, it's not a must-see film anyway.
The story around it is much more interesting in the meantime.

Re: North Korea lampoon film cancelled

I watched it last night and had a good few laughs.

The more I think about it the more I think that it isn't really a suitable theme for a movie. We all laugh and joke about North Korea but to make a movie about killing a living president isn't really kosher IMO. North Korea had every right to be offended.

Thats because the film makers knew it was crap so they invented a PR stunt to increase its ratings, seems to have worked

Am I the only one that thinks this is just a grand marketing ploy? The film's getting a lot more exposure now than it ever would have done otherwise.
it is not only a film to make money, even US president make a lot comments on it, it is not usual. I do not think it is fun to mock on the leader of a country. but if sb want to make fun with their own leader, it is fine.

I agree. Let's face it....any movie which kicks off with an Eminem cameo where he comes out of the closet and Rob Lowe revealing extreme hairloss can only be classified as pure satire.

Not alone, it has to be one of the best marketing stunts of any film, probably because the film was going to be a flop otherwise

So other National goverments are now getting into the Entertainment Review business. Pakistan is peeved about Homeland, and a number of Arab governments have banned Exodus. why are they taking all these a little too seriously?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_o...282006_film%29

"Death of a President" is a 2006 British high concept docudrama political thriller film about the fictional assassination of George W. Bush, the 43rd U.S. President, on 19 October 2007 in Chicago, Illinois. The film is presented as a future history docudrama and uses actors, archival video footage as well as computer-generated special effects to present the hypothetical aftermath the event had on civil liberties, racial profiling, journalistic sensationalism and foreign policy."

"Death of a President" was a movie, not a petition

Re: North Korea lampoon film cancelled

This whole story has moved on now, with claims and counter claims about the degree of involvement of North Korea in this 'hacking' scandal, possibly covert retaliation by the US, and now formal sanctions by the US against North Korea.

There is also a number of alternative theories in circulation about who did it, for example . . .

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-laid-off.html
http://www.cnbc.com/id/102305848

The English Guardian newspaper carries a fairy neutral report about this case, which is open to its readers for comments:

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...-the-interview

The Guardian readership, it can be argued is from a 'select' political class, but what is interesting is that the comments show an almost universal hostility to the American position here an American policy in general. So much so that one wonders if an election there could be won on the basis of naked anti-Americanism, maybe displacing the fear of the country being overrun by hordes of unwashed East Europeans, or other populist themes.

Well I watched it already and I laughed quite alot. It's my type of childish humour

The stuff about how the dear leader is so busy and uses so much energy that he has no need to defecate and therefor has no bum hole was just great!
