Palestine will join the International Criminal Court.

RT NEWS.

"Palestine will join the International Criminal Court on April 1, announced UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday. The Palestinians will be able to sue Israel for war crimes, a move the Israeli administration has consistently opposed for decades."

"The US joined the financial pressure on the Palestinian Authority on Monday, when the Obama administration announced a review of America’s annual $440 million aid package to the Palestinians. As AP pointed out, once the Palestinian Authority apply any case against Israel to the International Criminal Court, US financial help to Palestine will cease immediately under American law."

........

This seems like big news to me given the strategic importance of Israel to the US elite.

Re: Palestine will join the International Criminal Court.

Neither Israel nor USA accept the statehood of Palestine. As a consequence they will also not accept any findings by any authority whatsowever since according to their view there's no entity to raise any complaints.

Additionally, it seems the ICC could only rule on crimes committed on Palestinian territory, which is undefined, thus ICC lacks the grounds to act even if one were to say Palestine is a state indeed.

Doesn't look like Israels apartheid regime will change anytime soon. The only thing that maybe could change that is a withdrawal of the unconditional american support.

Eh? I know this isn't your quote, but how do they think a lawsuit can be brought in a criminal court?
