Of course, you can do that.
But only so many times before everybody else says "Whatever!" and minds their own business.
Good luck finding somebody buying your bonds and bailing out your banks.

I should think the EU/IMF are already liable to do that, if the new government tries to changes things again.

Re: Greek referendum - NO wins

Well I was right on the fresh elections before Christmas bit. Let's get ready for the Golden Dawn. They'll never forgive Tsipras for that referendum betrayal.

Greek elections

Here we go again. The rebels have formed another party, making them the third largest in Parliament.

Greek elections
From the last I heard Golden Dawn are not as popular as they once were. Tsipiras has eclipsed them as the ultimate badass of the political arena.

But that's not saying things can't swing back.

Re: Greek referendum - NO wins

I do have a lot of respect for Alexis Tsipras, he's taken a huge amount on his relatively young shoulders whilst being constantly damned and sniped at by his own party. Even his own ex Finance minister (Varoufakis) has taken pot shots, whilst he did nothing to help the situation other than grandstanding around Europe espousing his own blend of Marxist academic clap trap.

Do you also respect him for calling a referendum that he hoped to lose because he wanted to save himself the embarrassment of admitting he had been wrong?

He's a political corpse and he will only win these elections because right now nobody else is ready for them.
