Re: Calais

Don't forget Dover-Boulogne route. They did a lot of work on the port when LD Lines were sailing from there a few years ago and now it's not really being used I don't think. Shame really, it's much nicer than Calais.

If they tried hard they could probably shift both P&O and DFDS down there short term, living Calais Port to the strikers and migrants to fight it out amongst themselves.

I ASSUME YOU had services before you paid anything into the system. You were 5 years old and were sent to school along a public road with police and medical services standing by in case you had any problems.
FTFY!

Porsche1909, instead of asking people to go places YOU think are horrible, maybe you should lead by example. Or maybe you already are doing it, because your profile says "formerly in Neuchatel"? My bad.

Solutions, facts, solutions, facts.

I don't assume, I know for a fact because every single country in the world has public services. And 0% of 5 year olds have contributed to them. And I don't need to lead by example because I'm more than ready to "share" wherever I live with migrants.

Is this a form of harassment? Maybe I should check in with a moderator?

Re: Calais

Cool, so I'll chill if those things don't matter, although I want to earn those damn groans and red blobs fair and square from regular folk who put an honest day's work in and not from self-entitled, live off of daddy/mommy's (sweat and tears - IF they were poor immigrants) money brats, and who haven't contributed much other than airs to there communities.

Did I get the right grip?

My parents were "volunteered" to contribute taxes from which the services were paid.

I've already said on another thread that the two armies should step in. A few hundred troops patrolling the perimeters - with orders to shoot if necessary - would do wonders for security of the two sites.
Scenes from Calais this morning.

I can't see any evidence of him interacting with you other than on this thread but if it is the case then obviously you should inform the mods.

No, we're all getting/giving those from time to time... But some people are up in their arms even for a groan......hope you don't belong to that category.
I didn't see him insulting you or being very aggressive to you.
The level of discussions on this forum can go reeeealy down usually, thanks to a few very active and naturally gifted bullies, but it's (absolutely) not the case now.
Take it easy.

No, armies are for fighting to protect your territory, take over someone else's, fight for what you believe in, way of life, etc. If that results in war that's a side issue. And anyway, don't you see this as a kind of war? War on traffickers, war on people smugglers, etc.

No, but I bet the people of Calais and those caught up in this mess feel like they're in the middle of a war.

But not in the middle of a war against " traffickers and people smugglers". More like a war against civilians who have lost all hope and are prepared to run down a railway tunnel against the trains. If you want to fight the war against " traffickers and people smugglers" then trot off to Libya or where ever you think they may be because as sure as eggs is eggs they aren`t in the Pas-de-Calais. Send me a post card when you get there.

"formerly in Neuchatel"?
Currently stemming the tide against "illegal immigrants" somewhere between Calais and Syria.

...and out come the Political Correctness police ...apparently the word "swarm" has negative intonations? ...and using this word is a "worrying turn"? WTF? Maybe thousands of "wonderful young individuals" trying to enter the EU illegally is the "worrying turn"?

Quote:
Speaking on the Calais crisis, he spoke of "a swarm of people coming across the Mediterranean, seeking a better life, wanting to come to Britain".

Labour's Harriet Harman said "he should remember he is talking about people and not insects" and called the use of "divisive" language a "worrying turn".

Hundreds of migrants tried to enter the Channel Tunnel overnight.
Thousands of migrants have been trying to reach the UK from Calais this week, with nine people killed attempting to cross the Channel in the past month.

This wouldn't be a problem had Hitler not declared War on the US nor attacked Russia.

If he had merely consolidated his European holdings (France, Benelux, Eastern Europe including Austria) we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Sounds like Political Correctness has got "negative intonations" (sic) these days.
But I know what you mean. A swarm of women & children drowning not two thousand kilometres away isn`t any worse a way of expressing it than any other.

Did he declare war on the US? I thought that it was the other way round.
