Re: Massive blast in Tianjin, China

Amazing damage http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-33898639

Massive explosions have hit China's northern city of Tianjin, leaving dozens of people dead and hundreds more injured.
State media said the blasts happened in a warehouse storing "dangerous and chemical goods" in the port area of the city.
Vafa Anderson, who lives in Tianjin with his wife, said the force of the explosion resembled a nuclear blast in its ferocity.

The 2 blasts registered as 21 tons of TNT http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-33901206

I wonder how he knows how strong a nuclear blast feels...

Is it the score of "pirates of the caribbean"? Odd choice...

He might have lived in Japan earlier...

Anyway he is lying: the seismologists said it was the strength of 24 tons of TNT and Nagasaki and Hiroshima were hit with the equivalent of 20'000 tons

Re: Massive blast in Tianjin, China

it is heartbroken to read that the first batch of 100+ firefighters were let in without knowing there were hazardous chemicals (I heard it was CaC2) around; so they kept shooting water at the first explosion site, which (at least partially) contributed to the next waves of even larger explosion...
