FIRE ... of an aircraft on the ground.

This was last week http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ort-Laude.html ... and a British Airways caught fire the other month http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-34193767 .... Don't know about you, but I'd want to be off quick.
Sure, but on the picture it does not look like they cramp more people into the plane - they just rearrange the seats to make it possible for everyone to recline properly.

I am not sure if these two steps will be make an evacuation that much slower. The bottleneck got to be the emergency exit door in the same way the normal door is when you leave a plane.

Exactly. In a normal plane there`s always a bottleneck to get off.... while everyone waits for the 1st class to disembark first, and then s-l-o-w-l-y manage to get into the queue down the passage.

Ja, looking at the drawings, it does seem that some attempt has been made to make more leg room? And a reclining position possible.

It's a quick sketch to convey the idea rather than a scale drawing or even a drawing with much idea of perspective. The seated passenger seems to have a lot of leg room but ignoring the possibility that he may be a child, he should actually be much taller and/or bigger than the standing passenger behind him but he's smaller.

There's not likely to be extra legroom.

This is by choice, not the nature of the beast.

Often when the plane parks on the tarmac rather than at a tube, you get people disemabrking and embarking through the front and rear doors simultaneously.

Easyjet does this a lot because for them turnaround times really do matter.

Many legacy carriers chose not to because making First Class passengers feel priveledged is more valuable than equipment productivity.

Horses for courses?

As part of the certification process, aircraft manufacturers are required to demonstrate that an aircraft, in maximum density configuration, can be completely evacuated within 90 seconds using only half of the total number of emergency exits.

....a train isn't full of Jet Fuel.
Well, do you have any inside information that the evacuation simulation of this concept has already been done?

And what about the health reason, what are they?

Does it matter?

You don't have to prove full compliance to register a patent. On the contrary, you normally go for the patent as early as possible during the development process to prevent competitors from getting there before you, and the more people you get involved in a project, the more difficult it becomes to keep it a total secret.

Not all patents applications lead to productizations.

What safety exactly? For the event that people have to evacuate a plane crash? No offense, but all those safety cards and videos are only to calm you as a passenger... not much you can do when your plane crashes.

Itís not just about crashes.
Itís also about turbulence, TTOL, emergency exit, weight, evacuations, oxygen etc.
