Re: Isis chief al baghadi killed ?

Which news source said he got killed? I only read that he was struck by the Iraqi army and it isn't yet clear whether he is wounded or dead.

Re: Isis chief al baghadi killed ?

According to hospital sources, it looks like Al-Baghdadi was not among those shot down by airstrikes today. Another source says he was carried away by a vehicle.

The Iraqi air force on Sunday claimed it had hit the convoy of Islamic State (IS) group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in an air strike in the western Anbar province, close to the Syrian border. The condition of the militant leader remains unknown.

"The Iraqi air force carried out a heroic operation targeting the convoy of the criminal terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi," Iraq's security forces said in a statement, without clarifying when the alleged air strike took place.

“[The] fate of murderer al Baghdadi is unknown and he was carried away by a vehicle. His health condition is still unclear,” it said.

The military said the air force bombed the convoy as it moved towards Karabla, barely five kilometres from the border with Syria, where Baghdadi was planning to meet IS group commanders.

“The location of the meeting was also bombed and many of the group’s leaders were killed and wounded,” the military said.

Iraqi security sources have in the past claimed that Baghdadi has been injured or killed in air strikes, but those claims have either been denied or never been verified.

We're talking about the same guy? I suppose a lot of people would like to hear that. There are Lots of us monsters like that. The thought there is that it could save a lot of lives and begin to put an end to this thing. Is that an evil idea?

Good point there. but then they really should send a commando team to arrest him instead of missles.

According to reliable information, he has been killed today by the Iraqis, the Americans and the Russians. The Iraqis killed him in Iraq, close to the Syrian border. The Americans in Raqqa and the Russians in Aleppo.

I think the fact that you can even vent thought like that is very sad. Wishing death on an 'evil' person, just because you believe they're evil, is surely just as evil in itself.

I'm with the Russian Army. And the Americans.... and the Iraqis.... and the iranians, and the Yezidis, Kurds, Christians, Copts, Sunnis, Syrians, humanity, all good Muslims, etc. all who want to put an end to all that evil.

I think to stay neutral on that, as Dante said, "There is a special place in hell for those who stay neutral in the face of evil."

Yeah... no. No, Dante didn't say that. John F. Kennedy once incorrectly stated that “Dante once said that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality”, but Dante never said anything of the sort, and certainly not the mangled rendition you've provided.

Doubtless, this will invoke yet another of st2lemans' unwarranted drive-by groans.

Its actually a common phrase said in the South (US). But of course Dante didn't say it, as he wrote in Italian.

Yes, I've noticed that Americans often say the wrong thing.

Yes, Phos, Dante wrote in his dialect of what passed for Italian at the turn of the 14th century. But even in his own language, he never wrote anything close to what you and JFK claimed he wrote. But accuracy has never really been one of your strong points on this forum, has it?
