I'd suggest you not believe everything you hear. Some googling seems to indicate that's a myth.

Myself, I get queasy at the thought of symbolically eating the flesh and drinking the blood of a dead man.
No, I don't believe everything I hear, nor every rebuttal to everything.

Yes, With Baghdad gone Islamofaschist countries in the middle east are getting hard to find. You still have Iran, though.
Tehran was nice come to think about it.

You can drink mint tea, eat baklava, watch belly dancers and smoke a water pipe in Morocco too. Fez and Marakkech must be equal to Damascus and Baghdad in history, culture and as centres of learning.

Better hurry though as long as the king is still alive, because who knows what will happen when he leaves the scene?
Regarding the Fez, the red hat, a freemason Shriner explained to me it is colored red to commemorate the slaughter of Christians in Fez. They had dipped their hats in Christian blood to honor Allah.

Hmmm, I get queasy enough travelling through some European cities, knowing what took place in some of them.

If it isnt' true it's at least nicely imaginated.

Trustworthy source or it's nothing but an urban legend.

This one could very well be an urban legend, although we do know that human nature and its history doesn't really fit our rosy concepts of the brotherhood of men. Worse thing have been done by all kinds of people, and not in the too distant past.

I'd agree that people can do horrible things. But that doesn't mean every horror stroy is true.

With the Shriners you've got to remember that they're not "proper" freemasons going back to the mists of history but a circa 19th Century invention by a bunch of freemasons who got bored with traditional freemasonry and made something new that was less esoteric but more romantic (in the artistic sense) borrowing a lot of Ottoman imagery, or at least the romanticised 19th Victorian versions thereof, and a lot of their lore was if not made up at the time, based on half truths and misconceptions.

In their books, now almost every destination will be stigmatized as high risk zone with terrorism.

Africa’s most competitive tourist destinations are South Africa, Mauritius and the Seychelles, with Botswana best positioned for rapid growth, according to the 2015 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report. Yet none of these nations has experienced international terrorism in recent years.

Lovely food, Interesting history, Cool women - shame it's run by Islamist tyrants. Every country gets the leaders it deserves.

Still, one has hopes...

And still, I do hope it will NOT be the next Syria....no, I don't think they need any benevolent countries exporting their democracy.

Remove the economic embargo, negotiate wit those tyrants, make them give a little to take a little. It goes a long way you know, as all the punishment against those tyrants is payed by the population at a high price, and that is not a good thing. The costs will be bigger in the future..but hey, you can as well dismiss this post as irrelevant.

They have nukes, don't they? Or semi nukes. Or almost have sort of nukes. Or something.

So need to fear involuntary democracy.

Now watch out what you are writing on media. This also applies to Mr Trump included ...

Technology companies should work on tools to disrupt terrorism - such as creating a hate speech "spell-checker" - Google's chairman Eric Schmidt has said.

'Spell-check for hate' needed, says Google's Schmidt

Iran is not Syria - it's a real country with it's own language and culture. Hopefully Iranians will change their vile regime themselves peacefully.

Re: Are you a terrorist or sympathiser?

As a former Infantryman, I can attest that bombing without ground forces is something politicians do to make it look like they're taking action, when in realty little will change on the ground.

To win a war, you must seize and hold territory. This is only accomplished with ground troops: Infantry and Armor.

I don't think America would have any problems winning such a war. The problem is winning a peace after such a war.

I have similar concerns.

Bombing (particularly the modern method used by NATO countries) is more for the news media than a means of changing the reality on the ground.

Meanwhile, as Syria gets all of our attention, Iran is closer to developing a nuclear warhead and a ballistic missile to carry it.
