It can be true he did not pen it but equally entertaining.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

There once was a Donald called Trump
Who went on the political stump
He was so appealing
He left his fans reeling
And his foes in a permanent grump

There was an old man from New York
With a face like a rear end of pork
He bamboozled the masses
With strong anal gases
And was speared with a rusty pitchfork

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

And for his right-hand man ...

There was a fat eejit named Christie,
Whose past was decidedly misty.
But by siding with Trump,
He protected his rump,
And now Bridgegate is nothing but hist'ry.

(OK, poetic licence requested for the last line).

And now he's been shot from a cannon

At least he seems to have a very reasonable POV regarding Syria and the Middle East in general.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

There was a place called English Forum,
The denizens of which lacked decorum.
And there for a time,
They tried to make rhymes,
The majority of which were sadly quite boring.

I'm relieved that he gets the power vacuum issues. That's a good starting point.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Looks like Trump's Cabinet selection is as chaotic as May's formation of the Brexit strategy!

Christie formerly led Trump’s transition team before Vice President-elect Mike Pence took over the role last week.
Christie is now a co-vice chairman along with former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and retired lieutenant general Michael Flynn.
The transition team’s new leadership axed Christie’s former chief of staff Richard Bagger, who had been helping manage the 16-member committee, and former Christie law partner William Palatucci, who served as the committee’s general counsel.
National security adviser Mike Rogers also leaves in ‘Stalinesque purge’ as talks at Trump Tower continue amid uncertainty over role of president-elect’s children.

Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and former Republican candidate for president tipped to be health secretary, has dropped out of the running.

Meanwhile Eliot Cohen (former senior State Department official under President George W. Bush and now a professor at Johns Hopkins University) "I told conservatives to work for Trump. One talk with his transition team changed my mind."

Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, an old friend of Trump, is the front runner for the prize job of secretary of state. He has no foreign policy experience. Previous business contacts with shady Middle Eastern people might cause issues if he goes before the Senate for confirmation

Rumours swirled over whether Trump’s children – Donald Jr, Eric, and Ivanka, and her husband Jared Kushner – would seek top security clearances.

In fairness, it's only been a week since he won the election.

Indeed, impressive he has made so many changes to his transition team in such a short time

I read they would parade politicians with lobbying experience by him, and he would yell "You've lost!" at them. Would be fun to film for posterity.

Very difficult to find any qualified and experience people in Washington without lobbying experience. The WHOLE place is a lobbying industry.

Couldn't agree more, but I suspect that Trump will find that he can't completely avoid having a certain number of people who have been lobbyists at some point.

Yes, he has to be pragmatic.

Professor predicted Trump win, says he will be impeached

One false move, and I can see republicans calling to impeach him.

I suspect that there are lots of openings for legal minds to examine both Trump's finances, and every court case which has ever involved him. If he doesn't put a clear firewall between his corporation and his presidency then he won't last all that long.

Yes, he's in the grey zone. Normally, a President should not even be aware where his finances are. But that would be nearly impossible for Trump with over 500 business interests. They would have to prove a particular action or decision constituted a conflict of interest.

Pretty tight rope he is walking. So I suspect he will be saying all kinds of moderate things, until he gets the electorate votes, until his inauguration, until key pieces of legislation. I suspect he will be sounding more like a centrist democrat until then, and will let dogs loose to pursue more controversial topics.

And the Dems blocking it because of Pence.

Trump made a smart choice selecting Pence, cheap insurance against impeachment or assassination.

Pence carries scary looking baggage, although Don. Jr. described a presidency where Trump sits like a chancellor, and Pence takes actions like a president. Pence may already wield a lot of influence.

How much do we know about Trump's management skills? His style seems to be to pit people in competition, and then deliberates a decision based on their performance. One is eliminated, and another advances (the Apprentice). I like the idea of judging Washington by its performance, though not sure how it applies here.
