The Land of the (not quite) Free!

"McCain wins the 2008 election!" ...you'll hear that early November... but how?

Have a look at this.

The 2008 election might come up with some suprises after all!

Carl Rove was (actually still is) the chief strategist of the Bush Administration.

It is a conspiracy!

I am the last person on earth to be a Bush fan.

When Bush and Gore had their spat in Florida, it was peculiar that
Gore only wanted to recount the votes in precincts with higher
numbers of minorities.

Robert Kennedy Jr would make an excellent candidate for President. He's someone who really "gets" it.

Re: The Land of the (not quite) Free!

A terrorist incident in the USA would practically hand victory to McCain. The public have been conditioned to think that War hero McCain is tougher on terror than Obama, therefore the Pavlovian response to any attack would be to circle the wagons and "Vote Republican".

I was in Washington DC around the time of the 04 elections and I just remember that there were a ridiculous number of terror alerts and office block evacuations... almost as if the people were being reminded that "we're at war and you cannot change Presidents whilst the country is under attack"

That could have been some Karl Rove style PR...

I bet that they will have plenty of that between now and then.

I don't know how this election will end. Lot's of things could happen.

A new terror attack which is blamed on Iran (Through Al Quaeda)? Start a war with Iran? The patriot act allows the president to cancel the elections in extreme situations (no kidding). But "Extreme situations" are nowhere defined - the president defines what's extreme and what isn't.

The whole group around the Bush clan (Big oil, Bush clan, Saudis) have so much to lose, and they have infinite resources and power (Including the supreme court). This election will very likely end in a drama.

Well it just means that if he was properly aligned with Whitewash House the facts he mentions (Ohio vote count) wouldn't be relevant and they'd become factoids.

wink wink

Well as an American, the last thing I would want to see is my "excellent candidate for President" barefoot in a Catholic church. I had the "honor" of seeing RFK jr. and his kids all barefoot in church.

Didn't strike me as quite appropriate - try shoes, or better yet, try washing your feet!
