Doug's comment that it doesn't matter who the president is (paraphrased) is ridiculous. Palin would be a catastrophe, for many reasons. The president is a lot more powerful than most people realise. Example: imagine the idiots she'll push into the judiciary.

The world could have been a lot different today if Bush was never appointed president (he wasn't elected in 2000) by his republican judge friends in a 5-4 decision (5 republicans vs 4 democrats), made possible only because previous republicans had been fortunate enough to replace a lot of moderate and leftist judges (nixon alone got to appoint no less than four supreme court justices during his reign). To say nothing of the lower courts (many many new appointments).
fyi, both Nixon and Bush II batted about .500 in terms of success in appointing "Republican" justices to the Supreme Court. same, as a matter of fact, as Reagan. in reality, Republican Presidents have proven far less successful in appointing "Republican" justices as have Democrat Presidents in appointing "Democrat" justices, which even a cursory study of SCOTUS appointments over the last 100 years will bear out.

also fyi, the most utterly damaging SCOTUS decisions in the history of the country all took place under FDR, who was hardly a Republican.

I like the way she posed for this photo-op. Someone had to say this.

The woman speaks in 'merkun vernacular. If she were elected, I think she would be detained by an Intelligence Agency; re-educated, re-programmed or replaced with a clone that tows a centrist party line.

Palin is never going to make a legitimate run for President, she is only playing up to the press on the issue so that she can continue to whore herself out for speaking engagements and press clippings.

In case you've not had a chance to read any excerpts, here's a gem:

Quote:
...Another Latin word, status quo, and it stands for, ‘Man, the middle-class everyday Americans are really gettin’ taken for a ride.’ That's status quo, and GOP leaders, by the way, y'know the man can only ride ya when your back is bent. So strengthen it. Then the man can't ride ya, America won't be taken for a ride, because so much is at stake and we can't afford politicians playing games like nothing more is at stake than, oh, maybe just the next standing of theirs in the next election.
I honestly cannot believe people pay their hard-earned money to listen to this woman speak.
