Harry Patch (WWI Veteran) Dies
Story here.

This is the passing of one of the last living links to the First World War and the horrors of the trenches.

My paternal grandfather was a few years older than Harry Patch and was an artilleryman - notably serving in the Somme; that great testament to military incompetence.
