| | | Choose a new faith! Fabulous prizes to be won!
Reality TV reaches new heights. This time in Turkey: | Quote: | | | | For eight weeks, the clerics, acting independently of one another, will try to convert the atheist candidates to their respective faiths. The program will include face-to-face conversations, group question-and-answer sessions and visits to mosques and churches. If the holy men manage to convert a participant, the participant wins a trip to the applicable holy site... | | | | | Article from Der Spiegel |

Morg | | | | | You say that as if the two are incompatible. Opportunism can stem from high motives too.
Imagine you're a preacher: spreading the gospel is your calling, your life's work. One day a TV producer offers to get your vital, soul-saving message out to hundreds of thousands of people - in exchange for just playing along with this silly "reality" game of theirs.
How can you refuse?
(Not every evangelical pastor I know would see it that way, but a fair few of them would.)

Would probably work better if the owners of TV stations took religious people and tried to convert them into regular watchers of contemporary TV. The winner could then spend a week in the big brother house of his/her choice.

Would one win by default by producing a certified authentic picture of God and would she have signed it?

Believe in Dog. It's the only neo-post-modern - albeit a tad dyslexic - way to go.

Morg | | | | | Yeah blame uncle Satan for everything. Is your god doing anything to stop him? MIA or just a sadist?
Btw Satan says hello to you |

God says hello back
EDIT: Devil's Advovate, in the interestes of not rehashing yet another religious debate, I am going to send you a PM. We can discuss privately.

I really like the concept of this show. I'm no believer myself, but I find the idea that clergymen actually have to compete and convince by argument that their religion is better than the other very appealing.
Pity it's in Turkish, would love to follow the show.

In the US, religions market themselves all the time... just not on game shows.
