Greetings - new here - can anyone please tell me about the Fly card?

Regrettaby having a limited grasp of written French and enough to order coffee, I am slaving over the business intentions of the www.fly.ch site and trying to decide what sort of card this is? I would like (I think) to use it for internet shopping, ie buy furniture and have it delivered - I have a massive aversion for mega stores such as Ikea.

So has anyone bought furniture from Fly? or belong to thier group ? can you please tell me in English how it works? (my identification of German words has escalated, however I have long way to go from ordering a pizza).

I have found this site invaluable for tons of tips and 'insider' knoweldge about moving, shopping etc. how did we live without the internet? it has so much potential to make everyone's life easier. If you would like some tips for immigrating to Oz, am happy to point you in the right direction too. After all, I love two paradises, Switzerland and Narrabeen Beach, Australia.

Re: Greetings - new here - can anyone please tell me about the Fly card?

Thank you, I need to buy and arrange the following to be delivered on the 8th August or following 4 days;

1. Double bed
2. Dining Table and 4 chairs
3. Sofa bed - a lounge that becomes a bed (bettfunktion - new German word for me)
4.Drawers (nischen)
5. wardrobe to hang clothes
6. Curtains
Other useful home set up items eg. microwave

I've only ever seen Fly paper in that funny movie where the chick almost crashes her car because of it.- it's not something we have in Oz. But www.fly.ch seems to be linked with www.myone.ch. So as a Debit card - do they require tons of your cash upfront and then you just use it to buy stuff with their Fly card? their prices look reasonable

Re: Greetings - new here - can anyone please tell me about the Fly card?

Hi,

I'm going to be selling some stuff from Fly. It's all the Kubo range and I have a double bed (with mattress), bedside tables, chest of drawers and a table and chairs. I bought it all April 1st but my girlfriend is moving in and bringing her furniture with her so it needs to go.

Unfortunately I can't deliver and haven't really thought of a price but yet but think the cost new was around CHF 3,000. August 8th may be a little too soon but if the range/style is to your liking I'll speak to "the boss" and see what she says.

Thank you Dave - will look forward to hearing about your expereince with Fly. I have a had a super fanctastic response from www.interior.ch While I can't read German AT all and guess at some French, I ordered from their site and they have been superhuman in responding - as well with tomorrow being national day and they will be able to deliver on the 9th for me ! truly super human. It seemed like the best option as the second hand shops and arranging transport - without language skills - was goign to be une problemo grossen.
An interesting point I noted, is that hen you can't read the site you pay much more attention to the photos. Well there wa this red leather type lounge on Interior for around 1200CHF and I thought 'nice' but too much for me. Well then driving home the next night, there is this same couch for sale under a neighbour's carport, the dust is blowing in on it- as it blows everywhere (am in Dubai) and the price is the equivalent of 1200CHF!
