I'm German, 28 years old and moved to Bülach (20 mins north of Zurich) about 2 years ago...it's crazy how time flies by....
I work at the airport of Zurich and know a lot of people who also work there...but I now wanna get to know people who don't work there and have a "normal" life..this might sound a bit weird but my working hours are not normal and that makes it also hard finding friends

i also sometimes do that but not that often

Best advice I can give you is attend as many EF events as you can, your name will get known and obviously your circle of friends will increase.

i think you should use this forum to assist u initially, and then just use it as a social/time pass, i thank this forum for the help I've got, but now i am on my 2 feet, solid, and don't need this forum, just like i was back in London, i don't depends on a forum for all my life issues.

u experience things and find things out yourself, opinions are opinions, but don't listen to them too much, and seriously "attend as many EF events and get known socially heard of", that's cool, but ive met lots of English and non English people but just "meeting them normally", not via a forum.

This seems a little foolish (or brave). The majority of forum members are unknown to each other (established members and long-running cliques excepted), and you have no idea of who (or what) is hiding behind a silly picture and made up name -- that (i.e. the autonomy) is the attraction for many.

Safety in numbers; use the forum as a means of suggestion for social events and venues to give yourself a reason to get out and about, to meet up with whoever.

let her make up her own mind and judgement, she chose to move to zurich, like many of us on this forum, im sure organising a "public", and "safe location" initial meet is something she knows about.

people do interact via PM's and meet and socialize OUTside of this forum, incase anybody forgot.

Yes it does - mainly because this forum is used by people from all over the world and it needs quite a high level of English knowledge to make sense out of your Indian version of txtspk. The OP for example is not a native speaker.

Hi Andee, just come along to one of the many events - you for example just missed a nice "pool&drinks" night on Friday. (and the guys who jump at any post of a girl online are typically the ones who don't show up there or are too shy to talk to a girl in real life, so it is not half as weird as the posts in this thread)

I totally agree. Go to some of the EF meetings and things will just automatically get going: you'll meet new people and you will see who you get along with and want to be frinds with. I know it is always weird to go alone to such meetings but my experience with the EFers is that we are all a very welcoming crowd - so don't be shy and join a social event.

Andee 1982. I don't want to put you off, but do as is suggested, sign up for a social event, you will meet some great people. Just be careful replying to PM's, especially from members with no or very little forum history.
