Hello everyone - I'm new,

My partner has been offered a job in the Zug office of our international corporation (I work for the same company) and we're hoping to be moving there by the end of September. I'm very excited about moving from the concrete jungle of London to such a beautiful country, but am also a bit apprehensive. I don't know yet if my company will allow me to carry on working in my current role in some capacity from Zug, so I may be looking for a new job in Zug. Does anybody know of any online resources where I could find out about jobs in Zug? I'm an experienced web editor (copy-editing plus XML & HTML) but would be prepared to do any kind of editorial or admin/office job. I have some German but am hoping to improve it quickly. Any tips or suggestions would be gratefully received!

I'm very relieved to have found this forum as it seems like it will make the transition to Swiss life that little bit smoother. I like the fact that you organise nights out, etc - great for newbies like us. I will no doubt be posting other questions in the coming weeks/months...

Suggest that you post a question about seeking employment under an appropriate thread. It's a bit late now for people to respond and tomorrow is a holiday (Swiss National Day) with lots of fireworks and drinking of the local wine so there may not be many members about until Thursday, hangovers permitting !

Thanks for the feedback and letting me know about the public holiday (sounds great!). Realised once I posted this that I should have asked the employment query in a different thread - will post it in the appropriate place now.

Welcome to Zug and this forum! i have found it to be very useful and a lifesaver at times. Another source of support is the yahoo group - expats of Zug. Good luck and ask away on the forum, everyone is so helpful.

Many thanks all - your helpful and friendly replies are encouraging for a new person like me! I am just discovering the breadth of info already existing on this forum. I'm finding lots of my questions have already been answered!

By the way, it looks like my company might allow me to work remotely from Zug -fingers crossed! - so I may not have to look for work straight away. That should make the transition a bit easier...

Should know more about my almost-definite move in the next week...
