Hello all! My initial journey to Switzerland will begin in about 7 weeks. I have a room rented in Luzern for nearly all of my 2 month stay...just a few days in mid November to take care of. In addition to exploring Switzerland, I will also visit Austria and Germany...perhaps more? Have a lady friend in Luzern ... she will be my part time guide and a great information source. I am registered to run the first Luzern marathon in late October. Really looking forward to this visit with an eye on a possible move in the future .

Hey, cheers, make sure you post your marathon experience on here! I'm considering running that one as well, but I haven't quite decided... it's nice and flat, so it'd have to be easier than the last one. ;-)

You're sooo lucky,and blessed to have a Swiss lady friend show you around!

Make sure you get your gal to show you the amazingly beautiful lakeside villages of Weggis,Vitznau,Greppen,Küssnacht;and go up to Rigi !!

(My fav is Weggis,which I miss a lot,where I lived,rehearsed.)

Don't forget to jump in the warm Vierwaldstättersee this time of year too.

I would do anything to be in Luzern this summer 2007;specially today August 1st!!
