Hey there, I moved to Zurich only a cple of months ago and I was wondering if there is any Japan-related activities, groups, Karaoke bars, izakaya:-) etc. in Zurich??? I am half Japanese, half German myself and lived in Japan for a year, missing its, hmm, how to say, differentness may be? get in touch for an izakaya tour or whatever is possible in ZH. Cheers Sina

Hi.. Did you finally find some Japanese friend in Zurich?
There have a lot of Japanese in Zurich. I just move to St gallen. I am from Hong Kong. Used to live in Zurich for three years.

I also used to live in Japan. So I have quite a lot of Japanese friends in Japan, Paris and also Zurich. I am not sure they have a tour like Japan for drink in Zurich. Since here is such expensive. Maybe only tea or simple lunch. hahaha. not as crazy drinking and full of food on the table like Japanese style. I misss it so much as well.

But if you have one Japanese friend in Zurich. Then they would love to have drink in their place with many other Japanese with you. It happen for me more often in Paris. I met many Japanese in this way. We are like small family in Paris ( even I am Chinese ).

In Zurich. I have few Japanese friends. But we are more often stay two or three of us and enjoy our private time for coffee at home. Maybe you can go to the Japanese Event in Zurich.

You should go to take their free magazines in Japanese restaurant near Zurich HB. I just knew there have one Korean/ Japanese supermarket near the H&M Zurich HB. you can find the magazines there. Also you can put your announce there. I am not sure you can find Japanese friends there more easier than this site. This site might more popular for English speaker. I guess.

I would like to meet some Japanese in St gallen too. Hope soon. I can meet more interesting people here.

I'm Korean not Japanese but I like Japan and Japanese cuisine such as Katsudon. Sometime, I go to Japanese market in Zurich (http://www.nishishop.ch) to buy soba and tofu. As SUNHC stated, you can buy Japanese food in Korean grocery shop near the Zurich HB.

And I was really suprised that how much young korean on the street at night. I went to two nice market. All the young people start shopping from midnight and back home in the morning. I was there as well to join their crazy shopping night. It was really fun.

About Japanese Food. mmm :-9 I love it too.. Basically I love food and cooking. I appreciated each country 's nice food. And I can say. I love Korean 's Kimuchi. I often make some Japanese food at home. Sushi. Japanese warm dishes and share with friends.

Yes. Unfortunatly. No Japanese supermarket in St Gallen.
But I knew there have also many Korean in Zurich and St gallen. I just heard that there have a Korean Christian meeting here and I am thinking to join them once.

I have lived 14 month in Nagoya(Research) and 15 month in London(MSc).
I still miss Japan a lot and looking forward to go.
