New Greeks in Zurich

Maybe this title will help to get a "welcome" because in my previous thread I did not have any luck
We are a couple that lives in London now and we are moving to Zurich by the end of March!
We are Greeks in our 30's.
I am only a few days in this forum and it seems very good!!

Hello and welcome,

Hope you will enjoy living in Zurich.

We should organize a Greek food festival so the rest EFers will taste our cuisine.

Re: New Greeks in Zurich

Yeah this title is way better . Just joking, didn't see your earlier post.

Welcome to Switzerland, Zurich and the forum. You will be in very good hands here.

I love ancient Greek history and literature and have been nuts about it since the age of 8! . Perhaps I was Greek in a past life!

Have fun on the forum and enjoy your life together here.

Cheers

Re: New Greeks in Zurich

Welcome Kalypso and Spouse.

You are doing the right thing by starting with this forum. It will save you time and effort learning about Swiss German culture and odd ways, (lots of do's and don'ts in Zurich) and there are great people to meet and fun events and activities for both you and your spouse.

Enjoy

Hello and welcome Kalypso,

Persefoni would you like to share some of your favorite Greek restaurants in Zurich with us? I would surely enjoy a good Koftedakia, tzatziki or mezes

Thanks

Oh, I' m so new to Zurich, I can't really recommend anything.
I only checked one Taverna and the food was not good.
I will definitely try Tavernaki Kalymnos
We should organize this get-together for after Easter holidays.
If the weather is good we can use my terrace. Is big enough for 20 guests and our apartment is 2' walk from Central.
Each of us can cook something traditional and I will also ask my mother to come and cook for us.
Dougalís Breakfast and Ishaka and all Philhellenes are most welcome of course!

It' s really good to hear that. Not a lot of people are fond of Greece and Greeks right now.
You should meet my husband, he know everything about greek mythology and he is a great story teller.
I think he fall in love with me because of my rare ancient greek name, Persefoni.
Maybe you should change your EF name to Ithaka!
