From Germany to Switzerland

Hello everybody,
I am quite happy to have found this forum, took me a while, though...
I moved here with my English husband and 2 kids from Germany (I am German) at the beginning of the year. To make things more complicated for us, we went to the French speaking Vaud and now live close to Lausanne.
I'd love to hear from other women stuck in the same situation (and place?) as myself - I just cannot see myself ever returning to work within the next 100 years. They sure don't make it easy for women with kids. No offence, but being a housewife and mother is not my thing.
Maybe I should move straight on to the complaints section?
Looking forward to meeting lots of you,
swisskat

Re: From Germany to Switzerland

Originally from around Hanover, but we lived in the East with their fantastic socialist childcare system for the last 10 years and are a bit spoiled now...
My French is pretty good, but my lovely ignorant husband hasn't passed the "I know one insult in every language"-stage yet, his work is run in English, so there's no need.
In a little while, when my baby is a bit older, I will definitely try to get some work. It seems readily available here!
Schaun mer mal...
