I moved to Schaffhausen in November last year with work. I'm from South Africa, and arrived in Switzerland after 7 years in England and a short but fun stint in Singapore too.
I'm into active / outdoorsy / social things and am keen to meet and explore this beautiful country with like-minded people - especially now with this lovely weather.
I've been visiting Schaffhausen for 7 years due to work and will be relocating there in July or August, depending how fast I can get things organized and find an apartment.

Looking forward to meeting you
I don't know how much you are into hiking. "Wandering" up the Randen to the German border is nice ! Or you can go on by bycicle to Singen and the Hohentwiehl ... or up the river to Stein-am-Rhein and the Bodensee and Konstanz
Welcome Ste-bear! My husband and I have been in Schaffhausen nearly 3 year & love it. PM me if your interested in meeting up!
Delighted to read that you love the place. My grand parents, he from Stein-am-Rhein and she from Herblingen, lived in Schaffhausen from 1905 until 1964. My grandmother did hikings as mentioned above with my brother and me in mid April 64, apparently under the impact of kilos of anti-pain tablets !! and only at the end of April told my mother that she had terminal cancer, of what she died in September 64
@Captain Greybeard: thanks for the welcome. I am 2nd generation Greek, born & grown-up in Southern Africa. Plenty of us out there & in Australia, America etc too.

Re: Newish to Schaffhausen
Thanks Ste. That explains it. Of course I know that Greeks are just about everywhere. They are flexible people who merge in another culture very easily without giving up their culture. I lived in Greece for a year and a half, not in a tourist ghetto but on a tiny island. I learned a lot from those people, much more than just the language.
