Hello everybody. I am new in Basel. I'm looking for going out for some drinks on weekends. Are there some regular meetings in Basel?

Hi,, I'm new in Basel too, and I also would like to meet some people to go out for a drink and enjoy the good weather and weekends. So if you have any plan I'd like to join.
Also i would like to know if anyone know if it's possible to watch somewhere the spanish soccer match Real Madrid vs Barcelona tonight or if someone is thinking on watching it.

If you create an event (e.g. going out for drinks) on the Forum, you are likely to get quite a few people to show up (depending how long in advance the event is created, naturally)

You have made a good choice of moving here and this lovely weather is just gonna make this better.

For any Big Game - Cinema Street is your destination. If you are a footy fan, the you will not be short of places which shows the game. It might take some time to find a good place where drinks are also affordable. We usually go to Paddy's or Pickwick (A little high priced)

Just to settle things in my mind, I'm not sure I know what you mean by "Cinema Street" - and I've been here for 3+ years.

So, for the sake of clarity (and some recognition when someone is looking at a map)... what do you mean by "Cinema Street"? (I imagine you to be referring to Steinenvorstadt though, as there ARE three or so cinemas on that street...?)

Thanks for the help, I'm sure folks who are new to town (or to socializing about town, even if they've been here a while) and unfamiliar with "expat terms" for areas of town will appreciate it.

Cinema street = Steinenvorstadt. The street is way older than the invention of cinema and we have not had a cinematic revolution to rename it.
