Vienna goes Zurich! :)

Dear all,

Hello from Zurich! I have just joined this forum and do like it here I'm happily married to the Swiss guy and we both are very much looking forward to expand our circle of friends. We love traveling, dining, brunchen, cooking, going to the museums, theaters and opera. Feel free to drop me a line or two if you share our interests and would like to meet up for a cup of coffee or a glas of wine. Virtual reality is fun, however we do prefer communicating with real people in a real time.

71 clicks or Enjoy The Silence

Here is how the story goes: 3 days ago, I bumped into this website. Got excited. Introduced my international self right away. Was very much looking forward to hearing from a bunch of people. Then from a dozen. Then from somebody. Then from at least somebody. Finally, after three days I know the community here does not feel as enthusiastic about me as I do about them Hmmmm.... Was just wondering if there's any particular reason for that?

Too much naval gazing going on around here these days to welcome newbies.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! We've been so busy posting trivial things that we forgot to welcome our newbies.

Welcome to EF! I'm sure you'll find loads of people to socialise with in Zurich. Most of the expat Zürchers I've met so far have been almost normal and not too scary

I strongly recommend nipping down to the Viadukt and meeting our resident cheese man (otherwise known as GrumpyGrapefruit). Not only are the nibbles to die for but the company isn't half bad either.

I'd be there every day if given the chance

I've just added my welcome to your original post

Introductions are over-rated - best to just to jump straight in...

Hello Vie

I tend to think of forums like this as walking into a bar. It's interesting to listen to the conversations that are going on, some of the time, and I can drift from table to table if the chat is not my kind of thing. Sometimes, if I've got something to say, I'll elbow my way in and join them. But I don't expect a round of applause when I walk into a bar, (not unless I'm wearing THAT dress) nor when joining a forum. People here seem pretty friendly (I've only been here a week) so dive in and start posting.

Welcome from another newcomer!

Get stuck into some of the 'Is Switzerland boring' or 'I'm a banker and am not paid enough' threads and you are bound to make a quick name for yourself...

Belated welcome to the forum...

Welcome to the forum. Many people get missed on their first posts: Bit of fun, what was your 1st ever post?
Don't take it personally.

A good starting point to meet members in Zurich is here:

It's traditional to include a naked photo of yourself on your first post in Introductions. If readers don't see the paper-clip attachment symbol next to your post, then they probably just ignore it and move onto the next one.

It's unfortunate, there's been this misunderstanding, but there's still time to rectify the situation.

We look for ward to your next post (or not?)

(.... oh - and welcome)
