Hi, my name is Sarah and I am moving from Australia to Zurich in 7 weeks to live with my Swiss boyfriend.

Most of my day revolves around the English language (I work as writer/editor) and I have been really worried about missing English - so I was very very happy to find this web-forum!

I'm in the process of applying for jobs, visas, maybe the CELTA course so I can teach and, of course, learning German. (I go to sleep listening to my Berlitz CD's). I will check out the threads on these topics.

Tip.... Insist that your boyfriend speaks german with you at least part of the time it will be invaluable. Goodluck

Hey, Sarah! how ya garn there, mate?... I'm sorry, I know it's not cool but I just wanted to use that phrase, now I'll get it off my system. I agree with Oldhand, try to speak German with your boyfriend, that helps a lot! or paste little post-its all over your house with the names of the things, like "der Spiegel" on the mirror or "der Stuhl" on a chair... it's really worth the shot... good luck with your CELTA and all the paperwork!
