Phd student from Hungary, new to Basel

Hey everyone,

I'm Gábor, 24 and I hail from Budapest, Hungary. I moved to Basel roughly 6-7 weeks ago to start my PhD in Physics at Uni Basel. Luckily I cleared the first hurdles and I'm starting to settle in at work, however my weekends tend to be a bit uneventful and I miss the buzz of people around during the last few years.

So I'm looking to hear from some of you guys who are maybe in a similar situation or if you're open to welcoming a youngster in your community.

I speak Hungarian, English, I manage with Serbian and a bit of German (which is quite rusty and I don't have the confidence to use it with the Schwyzerdütsch guys).

I saw the thread for the Pub Crawl and if nothing comes up I'll be there for sure

Hope to see you guys around,
Gábor

Ah probablity theory, we meet again! Hmm, a variation of Buffon's needle problem, I think I'll have to take some time for solving it. Although I hope you were joking abot this being a pubcrawl prerequisite
