It is possible to change name. Nickers had a different name and was recently changed.

I actually think the avatar is more quickly associated with a forum member rather than the name; I find it kinda interesting to occasionally look at the member list without looking at the names on the left, only the avatars on the right, to see how many members I know/recognize strictly based upon avatar.

I demand that Brighouse change their name. It's easy for people who don't know the exact location of obscure West Yorkshire towns to confuse them for me.
In fact, I think I've accidentally received a lot of rep meant for Brighouse.
