Hi,
I just moved in Kloten. Looking for good places to hang out and make new friends. i am also looking for some good tips on internet connections at home, satellite disc options for more english tv channels (i was actually surprised to see that they charge taxes for tv connections also....)

I would also like to find out like minded people in sports like badminton, tennis, cricket, chess.
I was reading some of the posts and this seems to be a very good active forum.

Heya! Where're you from? My husband and I are also moving to Kloten soon, we live in Zurich at the moment. This is kinda cool coz when I move in next month I'm coming to you for tips on internet connections, satellite tv options etc!

My husband and I are right around the corner in Bassersdorf and we're always happy to meet up for a cuppy, walk or what not. =) And, at this time of year I've got a full stock of freshly baked Xmas treats, so welcome anyone over for a nibble and drink here. =)

Welcome to Kloten. I moved here with my late (Swiss) wife from London in 1967 when Kloten was just a little village and the airport was nothing more than a big field with a strip of concrete running down the middle. It's not beautiful, nor does it represent Switzerland very well being very international in its inhabitants and infra-structure. But it has a lot going for it. Not only are there masses of walks in woods and over fields but transport connections are frequent and go in all directions. I especially enjoy those moments when my 'plane lands after my holidays or after a few days in London to know that of the whole lot of passengers I'll be the first one home! There is an amazing number of sport clubs and other pastime groups, the town hall can help you with all sorts of information.

Epic to live in kloten, especially when you're Dutch (kloten means bullocks in Dutch)!
