Hi all!

I'm Leo and I've just moved to Lausanne from Belfast in Northern Ireland to work at EPFL. So excited to be in this amazing country and really looking forward to meeting nice, fun, interesting people from all over the world while I'm here!

Mostly I'm looking forward to getting into the mountains at the weekends for skiing or hiking or whatever new thing I can do here that I couldn't at home. So far the move has been smooth and I'm finding my feet here and this forum seems like a great resource and very friendly so glad it exists.

@Stewapau, funny you should mention it; I've found a general rule of thumb here about prices....just double all the numbers you would expect to pay for things back home and you get near, not exactly...but near. Then when I was in Coop the other day I noticed the price of wine and was very surprised! I just thought it was very poor quality stuff (think Tesco Value) but maybe not! Wine has found another advocate methinks!

Expect the time of your life here...the mountains, skiing, hiking, beautiful villages, a new and strange culture...stand on the highest peak, eat blood sausage, fall in love and have your heart broken.
