Friends in Bern

Hi!

I am looking for friends in Bern.
Because its getting bit boring to only work and drink beers alone

Maybe you are looking for (new) friends? Let me know!

Re: Friends in Bern

I'm relatively new in Bern too and would be happy to join in. I notice that there aren't so many activities in our area, so thanks for posting.

Re: Friends in Bern

Cool! Yes, not a lot of activities in Bern.
Maybe we can do something fun together?

I do know that every first day of the month you can drink great beers at Wabräu (http://www.wabraeu.ch/). It's near the Gurtenbahn in Wabern. It's closed in January, though

Please, please, organise something and post a Social Event. the button is just above!

Send an E-Mail to swisscc@yahoogroups.com and ask to be put on the weekly newsletter of things to do in Bern in English.

Example:
Ice-skating, anyone?
I think the locations are Weyermannshaus and Ka-De-We and Post-Arena.
Also on the Egelsee if it freezes.

Re: Friends in Bern

A great idea would be a games evening, pot-luck dinner, just meeting for a drink at someone's place (more intimate, easier to be relaxed, not as expensive). The weather is pretty miserable so outside things are not so appealing at the moment.

I would offer to host any of these but my apartment is just bigger than a shoebox, but would be keen to join in if someone else feels inclined. Would be a great way for all the lonely expats to meet others. Any takers?

Re: Friends in Bern

Yes, I think it would be great idea to meet up. I could host the meeting at my apartment or meeting somewhere else. No worries.

Normally, every Friday the microbrewery Wabrau (great beer!) is open and is quite fun to go too. Sadly enough, it's currently closed this Month. The website is: http://www.wabraeu.ch/

The site says the beer also get sold over here: http://www.vetterherzog.ch/

Re: Friends in Bern

Hey everyone,

Anyone interested in meeting up this Saturday for coffee? I was thinking that we could meet at the Starbucks at 3ish. There's a Starbucks one block over from the Markthalle at the corner of Bubenbergplatz and Monbijoustrasse. Let me know if you'd like to meet up!

Re: Friends in Bern

So here goes:

I can't figure out how to make an invite (I might not have sufficient privileges), so I'm just going to do it this way.

I think I've got amy1978 and dustyfrog on for meeting up on Friday at 6pm. Let's meet at the front of the station next to a restaurant called Tibits, and go from there. Anyone else want to join in, please reply or pm!

I'll be the bearded guy with glasses in a longish black coat with a trilby hat (like a fedora, but smaller brim). From this generic description I'm sure you'll be able to find me

Look forward to seeing you all there!

Arun

Re: Friends in Bern

In case there is any more confusion about tomorrow, here is a quote of the original instructions. (I think newbies are not allowed to post invites; also I noticed I can't send more than 2 messages a day!)

See you there!
