Hi folks. My name is Simeon. I have been in Switzerland for almost 10 years now , in the same place , in a village on the right side of the Lake of Zurich. Before that, I lived with my wife and (then) infant son in New York City (Queens to be exact). My wife is Swiss and various circumstances made it preferable for us to move here than to stay in the US. I, being Greek born tried to connect to the relatively small greek community in Zurich, but recently feeling that my English is slowly fading away, thought it would be pleasant to sign up here. I have often visited as a guest and have gotten helpful information here, so now Im taking the next step! I hope everyone started off the year well!

The ingredients of my life are somewhat similar, but in different proportions, so to speak. I'm Swiss, I lived in Greece for more than a year and a half, my Other Half is American and we are transatlantic commuters, sort of (Lake Michigan and Walensee).

Oh, and I am in Queens once in a while. Somewhere between JFK and LGA. And my assistant is Greek, but grew up in Glarus.

Thanks Uncle Max and Cptn.Greybeard for the welcoming words. The world has gotten smaller indeed. I wonder what's between La Guardia Airport and Kennedy. I guess you were passing through Queens in that case. Lake Michigan and Walensee sound like two good poles to commute between. I wish I could visit the States more often. I appreciate them more from a distance than when I was there. Of course being an immigrant twice I realize there can be an "idealization of the lost country" effect.
