I am currently looking for work. Back in the UK my main profession was an electrican for 3 yrs (incl course) and a soldier for 5.

The following 2 users would like to thank Butcher for this useful post:
Hey ya James. I've been working in construction here in Zurich for a while now. Do you speak Italian or any of the latin languages ? That would actually help more than the German. Otherwise I would just work hard at getting your German up to B1 or 2 and also learn a bit of building terminology. Things might be a bit quiet till March or April for temp work but once your language is up to scratch just get round to all the recruitment agencies in person. I'll keep my ear out as well....
Thanks, unfortunately its just English i can speak and still learning German (been learning German for the last 8 months in the UK but unsure at what level I am at, although following you comment I found a site where I can take an unofficial test and find out.... just going to brush up a little first though).
Thanks for the advice and if you do hear of anything coming up then I would be extremely interested in hearing about it.
So do you work in construction? was wondering what sort of work is good over here for the winter if the construction is seasonal.
Any advice would be great.
(I am going to PM you this aswell as I m not sure if the site will tell you i ve written anything..... still new to this all)
Hi
i think you should go for sparky privately, they are so desperately need by the huge expat community here. I search everywhere to get all my plugs swopped over and found one on here and english, but sadly he returned to the UK...
