Re: From Finland to Switzerland (maybe?)

Thanks cst, Uncle Max and FMX I am living at Vantaa, and have been living at the southern regions of Finland all of my life. I have been thinking about moving abroad for a couple of years, and from last spring I have been doing pre-studies of places I would want to go and placed some applications for open positions to various companies. Now flights have been booked and appointments made, I am coming to Switzerland at the end of this month for interviews and see the places. Even if I don`t get job, I will be happy that I got the change to visit the Switzerland Just noticed that there is a pressure to limit EU-workers coming to Switzerland, hopefully I am not too late for this train :P

Re: From Finland to Switzerland (maybe?)

Sniveri, I think it's a great idea to spend some time living in another country. I recommend you take the plunge if the opportunity arises! And if it doesn't work out, Finland is really close, so you can always go back.

It's good that you will visit Switzerland to do some interviews and have a chance to look around a bit. When I moved here, I interviewed over the phone and had never been to Europe before!

Re: From Finland to Switzerland (maybe?)

Hello Sniveri,

Welcome to EF Switzerland!! As you may know, this site is thoroughly informative for job hunting etc and please check out the threads on employment in detail regarding recruitment agencies, taxation and the like aswell as events to meet people here.

I am also contemplating permanently moving to Zurich from my current residence in Valencia, Spain.

I will arrive with absolutely no plan whatsoever on 24th of this month with just a small suitcase so it is daunting to say the least!

I also plan to dip my feet in the water and see how things are here workwise. I do not expect it will be easy to find work initially but who knows, we may be lucky!

Anyway if you wanna meet up let me know because I will be in the city for three weeks starting from 24th jan, flat and job hunting and I am completely alone

Regards

Liam

I did a short trip to Switzerland week ago and had interview. From my point of view job interview went really well. Just today I got mail that I was not selected for this position. Well.. can`t win everytime, have to do more applications I liked the places and how restful the countryside at Switzerland can be. Hopefully I get second chance soon

And you found this out how exactly? Did someone tell your that or did you come to this conclusion yourself?

It's tough times both in Switzerland and back in Finland so it's not always easy to nail a job even with good qualifications so I wouldn't give up on hope if this is your dream we're talking about.

Well the business I am in are nowadays mostly done at India. Where would you found out the best experts if not in the country where the actual job is done in the first place? I still have a dream, but I have to work REALLY hard to make this become true. I mean specializing my skills so much that there is no questions, when they are making decisions.
