Any tips for Atlanta?!
Hope that helps
Heidi
Don't use your turn signal!! I know that sounds crazy but people there will actually speed up to cut you off and prevent you from getting over if they see your turn signal on. Just do like I do, only use your turn signal when you are already getting over. That's just to let them know that you are about to cut them off rather than the other way around!

What part of ATL are you looking to move to? A lot of people live North of Atlanta, so there is a lot there BUT the traffic is horrendous!! I lived on the north side, TowneLake/Woodstock area in Cherokee County for about 8 years and then moved south to Newnan in Coweta County and much prefer the latter! Anyway, if you have any other questions, just pm me and I'll be more than happy to help.

Not yet, in the process this week of looking at houses/flats. Finding it to be a little frustrating though. The housing here is MUCH SMALLER than what I'm used to of course which I expected but still a bit hard to swallow. I would love to live here but need to find housing that I can literally live with that's not in the middle of now where ya know? I like Shaffhaussen (sp?) but keeping my head up. Seeing about 4 more places before we head back out on Sunday so we shall see.

Yes the houses are much smaller compared to the US but not as small as the average Dutch ones

Well good luck with the hunt and enjoy Schaffhausen, at least you got very nice weather!!!!

Yeah, my husband was here last week and said the weather is much better this week. Although it's still cold to me!

Can't wait to get back home though. They've been having temps in the 70's! *sigh*

Re: From Atlanta to Schaffhausen

2 things. Always use your turn signals. I got stopped by the, local police for not sinalling. There weren't even any cars on the roundabout!

Housing is OK out in the villages. We lived in one with a garden 2400 square ft or yard I should say. Couldn't. Live in a flat myself. We knew people who moved to schaffhausen from the US and they were horrified at how small the houses were. But for a tiny country it isn't bad. You just might have to put things in storage for a while.

Good luck. We still have good friends in schaffhausen. Lovely place.
