We recently arrived in Zurich (2 weeks ago) from New York with our 5-year old son. He started going to Swiss kindergarten here in the morning and we would love to find English speaking friends to have playdates with in the afternoons and/or on the weekends. We live very close to ETH (I think the area is called Kreis 6).

I live in NH and have no children, but at least I can say to the EF!

There is a huge EF community in Zurich, I am sure that you will soon find all the companionship your child needs.

I can't be of much help to you at the moment, seeing as how I'm still in the States, but just wanted to drop a line and say hi anyway.

My family and I will however, be moving over around the end of June. We wanted to wait until our oldest is out of school.

Welcome to Zurich! We moved back here from NY in August 2009 - moving in winter is harder, it can be kind of dull here in the cold season!

I have a 5-year old daughter (and a 12 year old), we live in Urdorf (just outside of Zurich, North-West of the lake) but the girls go to school in Zurich so we are in town a lot. That, and I can't stay away too long

I know another expat who has a 5-year old boy, I could put you two in touch if you like.

Also, if you are interested in meeting other expats in the area, I organize a book swap once a month – I know it sounds terribly suburban, but really it's just an excuse to get some free reads and meet up with other English speaking expats in a relaxed setting.
