Dear All

I have been on this forum quite some time ago, as we were planning to move to basel

The move is verymuch on the wall in Aug, but recently I had my first trip to actually visit basel

I look forward to meet all the baselians and hope the transitition will be smooth

Few things pro and con for everyone to ponder upon

Pros
1. nice small town. the week day traffic is as horrible (or not!) as the sunday "rush" hour traffic in London!!

2. nice commuting system. dont bother to get a car

3. great school in ISB for xpats

4. Finally we found the Subway (stutki..pardon my spelling!) Mc D and Burger king

Cons
1. Housing (is it correct that if I have to move in Aug I should book the place in Aprl? I would only like to seek the place near ISB

2. It doesnt mater if you stay in BL or BS, in terms of rent amount (taxes are different)

3. Some fantastic places to stay...but beware that those places will be like living in US which is isolated from the shops

4. Most flats come absolutely unfurnished
