I'm a Canadian Brit who moved to Baar in August. Just beginning to get my feet beneath me, and I still haven't managed to acquire any German skills. I'm looking forward to exploring some of the social connections and events. I was living in London last year, and Baar has been a real change of pace...
I've lurked on the forum before, and decided to bite the bullet and register to say hi.
I'm trying to learn German (and the myriad rules!) but it's not a quick process... Fortunately I teach primary school, so I have 18 willing junior teachers to drill me in my pronunciation.
We should so something in Zug sometime though. There's a few of us who live or work in the area. I can recommend the language school in Baar - www.softlanding.ch - they might have an evening course running.

Hi, I just moved to Zug and I have to say I am also trying to get used to the surrounding especially among the German speaking locals. I am yet to take up any German lesson, but will do it soon. Was hoping to get into any meet ups/ events if there`s any in the near future....

Welcome to all of you and there is quite a load of people in the area - we should really set something up soon, it's been ages! Volunteer, anyone?
