New Dutch girl in Basel!

Hi everyone,

I just moved to Basel from Holland for a PhD position here at the University hospital. I am really exited and of course also a little bit freaked out. Especially because my German is not that good jet and don't get me started about the Swiss German..
Anyway, I hope to meet some nice people!

Hope to talk to you soon!

Re: New Dutch girl in Basel!

Welcome to Basel :-)

Join one of the nights out organized via EF... ik moet het ook nog steeds doen, maar ongetwijfeld heel gezellig.

Welkom martos!

Hope you enjoy EF, and good luck with the Baslerdüütsch! Just remember to pronounce "g" as English "g" and "ch" as Dutch "g". And "k" is "ch". Sometimes.

It's easy.

Welcome to Basel!

You should take the Basel Fasnacht as your welcome party , don't forget that you are expected to wear an outfit:

Re: New Dutch girl in Basel!

Thanks!
I will first go for Hoch-Deutsch, starting a course next month! I am hoping the Basler-Duutsch will follow automatically

I will definitely celebrate Fasnascht, was thinking more of something like this:

haha, hope to see you there!
