Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to take a second to introduce myself and to thank everyone for the wonderful advice that this forum provides.

I'm John and I have been a member of this forum for a few months but now just getting around to introducing myself. It was/is a great resource prior to moving to Zurich in December and now that I am here, it is the first place I come to find answers to my Swiss questions. Thank you English Forum!

My wife, who is Swiss, and I are settling into our new apartment just south of Oerlikon near the Radiostudio tram stop. Since moving in December I have been busy travelling for business/holidays and have yet had the opportunity to establish myself in Zurich. I'm hoping to find things to do and people to meet through this forum as well as continue to use it as a resource for understanding life in Switzerland.

In Atlanta we had a very active social life. I was also involved in soccer leagues and poker nights- looking for those types of activities in Zurich (dart league too maybe?). I play music (guitar) and would be interested in jamming with others. Also would like to work on my German. My wife speaks Swiss German/German but has limited patience so if there are groups for English speakers learning I would love to connect with that as well.
