| | | Makin' bacon!!
Hi
My name's Colin, I'm a butcher, originally from Scotland, but I've been based in Switzerland for around 30 years now. Currently in Dübendorf.
A friend recommended this site, as I heard that I have been getting praise for the bacon I am making, and currently selling through Jelmoli. Although I'll sell it direct to you cheaper if you ask me.
I also work pretty often as a chef, and the next big function I have planned is a Rabbie Burns night on Friday 25th January. If you're interested, let me know either here, or just say hi to me next time you pass by the butchers counter in Jelmoli. I'm the good looking one with the moustache!!
Colin

Hello Mr Bacon Slug Balancer
Sounds like you could have some interest in these parts. Bacon is one of the hallowed products many expats seek - so tell more

Welcome, Colin. I noticed that Jelmoli has started selling Scottish bacon, but haven't tried it yet. I'll be dropping by to order a turkey so maybe I'll have to try some bacon as well.

We talking proper back rashers here instead of that streak "baurn speck" rubbish you get here?
If so clear the way... I'm heading to Jelmoli!!!

Haggis is most certainly on the menu. I've already reserved the Zunfthaus zur Saffran, and I'm hoping to get 100-150 places and put all the details on the "what's on" if the administrator lets me.
In the mean time, pm me and i'll let you have my email and telephone number. | Quote: | | | | | Hello Colin, welcome to the Forum.

I'll ask for you next time.

We're spending a huge chunk of our disposable on bacon out of Jelmoli...
A taste of sanity in this god forsaken "Speck" hellhole

It sells out pretty quick, and I'm making batches up to 20 Kg a time. I think maybe a few fellow members get there before you!!
But you can get it direct from me. PM me and I'll give you my Natel number and email. | Quote: | | | | | Are you there on a Saturday? I went up there a couple of weeks ago to look for bacon as I'd heard that Jelmoli were selling some, but couldn't find any.

These are indeed, proper back rashers, not the wafer thin Swiss variety | Quote: | | | | | We talking proper back rashers here instead of that streak "baurn speck" rubbish you get here?

This reminds me of the butchers in "The League of Gentlemen", excellent I'm in!!! Nosebleeds here we come!!!!
Please let me have your mobile and I'll place an order immediately.
Is bacon alright to freeze by the way? Not that it will last very long at my gaff.

Yes it can be frozen. Also, it is vacuum sealed and will keep for around four weeks.
PM me for my personal details. | Quote: | | | | | This reminds me of the butchers in "The League of Gentlemen", excellent I'm in!!! Nosebleeds here we come!!!!
