My name is Brooke and Im from New Zealand (if you didnt pick it up).
I arrived in Switzerland on Tuesday. I am working as an Au Pair in Lugano, Vira Gambarogno. i still dont quite understand where I'm located lol but its across the lake from Locarno.

I'm a kiwi too, and I was in and around Locarno in July last year (didn't make it over to Lugano), but it's a beautiful place in the summer and I hope you enjoy your time there, you're very lucky!

If you are across the lake from Locarno, you are nowhere near Lugano!

(which is on a totally separate lake, with a lot of mountains in between)

Not sure about Switzerland, but half my family now lives in Australia, so I wouldn't count it out as a future option. I can't really go into detail of our slow-pace friendly world domination plans, but there will be plenty of relaxation, sports and alcohol, so no need to worry.

Welcome to Ticino,

Lugano is the nearest town for Socialising, nothing really ever happens in Locarno or Bellinzona. It would be more fun to visit Lugano maybe for the Internations event, if you dont have a car, you could catch the bus to Giubiasco then the train to Lugano.

Hey guys thanks heaps. Ive been in basel for a few days, it's quite nice.
I just put lugano because i realised my area is very small and Lugano is bigger and easier to find english speaking peeps. Its not to far to drive so it wouldnt be to much of a worry. I think switzerland is a better choice then ozzy to take over . Ooo also the international film fest is in locarno in august. Definitly message me if any of you come down my way.
